Opening month of the Season

There has been good start to the season with Joey Polson who caught a Salmon at the Honeypot on the opening day as well as Gary Beresford and Martin Moran. A fourth Salmon 12lB was caught by Kevin Minnock on the 10th June on the Gangway with a home tied Gold Willie Gunn and also christening his new rod.

Since then it has been slow with only the odd fish being seen or touched until David Taylor caught a 12LB Salmon on the Gangway. We are now awaiting the arrival of the Grilse and Sea Trout as the rivers have had some caught already with the odd rise in water levels.

Tight lines everybody, but to catch that fish you need a Fly in the water.

End of the season update

September ended up a poor Month with very little fish being caught and not many fishing.

However for the season we had over 40 fish caught, which in down a little on last year but was quite good considering, as it seems to have been a very poor season for all the rivers in the Country.

We has some exceptional Sea Trout this summer from 2LB to 6LB giving good sport to visitors and locals but unfortunately with any little spate they seem to vanish to the rivers.

There will be an AGM to be held at the start of next year, details of which will be given on here. As these are challenging times and the club needs all the support you can give it. We look forward to seeing members and any one interested in the club or becoming a member in the future, or even joining us on the committee.

We thank everyone involved, especially the ever young Kenny, who still continues to keep the white shed operational is always good for information and a chat.

We thank all members and visitors for supporting the club and look forward to seeing you again.

Would all members please send in their returns for the season, whether you caught anything or not, as we need the number of days fished as well as the catch numbers or not, as the case may be.
