This is the most popular and probably the most productive stretch of the whole Kyle. It has been nicknamed “The Honey pot”, for obvious reasons! Be warned though, it can be busy, so you may have to wait your turn.
Fish the fly from the Right, (South) bank. Approach from the netsmen’s bothy at the roadside and walk, upstream, crossing the River Carron about 50 yards upstream of its mouth. Do not attempt to cross the river in high water. Alternatively, you can drive through Invercharron Farm, from the Ardgay-Rosehall road. The track is private property and the last stretch is through a grassy field. Drive with care, show respect for livestock and close the gate. It is strictly forbidden to fish the river itself.
